Distinguished and Famous people from Junee

🏅 Laurie Daley

Laurie Daley was born in Junee in 1969 and was playing first grade for the Junee Diesels at fifteen when Canberra coach Don Furner noticed him. He joined the Raiders and became central to their premiership teams of 1989, 1990 and 1994. Representative football brought New South Wales and Australian honours, including captaincy. Junee’s competition provided the setting in which an unusually young player first attracted the attention that would take him into the national game.
